Regional Sales Manager manages and directs a sales force to achieve sales and profit goals within a region. Manages multiple districts within a region and adjusts sales goals and procedures as appropriate for each district. Being a Regional Sales Manager designs and recommends sales programs and sets short- and long-term sales strategies. Evaluates and implements appropriate new sales techniques to increase the region's sales volume. Additionally, Regional Sales Manager collects relevant competitors' market information to increase sales volume and market share. This role uses various marketing strategies and deep industry and product knowledge to consult with independent insurance agents and agencies to help them grow their businesses and generate more revenue for NCC.

    Responsibilities

    • serve as a consultant to agents in assigned territories and provide support to other agents as needed, promoting retention, loyalty, and team success
    • facilitate a smooth transition to the onboarding team for any additional contracts needed to ensure robust product portfolios
    • consult with agents and provide personalized service to agents once they are ready to sell (RTS), advising them on marketing, business development, and lead generation strategies
    • thoroughly answer agents’ questions and solve problems that may arise with an agent-centric focus
    • help agents maximize their resources and utilize the tools NCC provides
    • turn contracted agents into selling agents with a focus on continuous improvement
    • coordinate additional NCC resources needed to help agents overcome challenges
    • use discretion to negotiate any override rates on behalf of the organization based on an analysis of past production for established agents
    • guide agents to set reasonable goals and expectations for themselves and coach them toward achieving and surpassing those goals
    • remain current on the senior insurance market and products offered in assigned territories
    • continued agent outreach focusing on increasing current agent engagement and production in their primary territory
    • actively discern opportunities for specific agent training and successfully collaborate with the training team to foster agent growth
    • develop rapport and working relationships with carrier market managers in assigned territories
    • negotiate/facilitate marketing co-ops and campaigns with partner carriers
    • obtain referrals from existing NCC agents to funnel to the recruiting team
    • partner with the digital marketing team to create innovative strategies that will grow, retain, and motivate agents to increase their sales
    • scale the growth of regional and partner marketing efforts
    • build relationships and collaborate across SFG and NCC for process improvements, cross-training, to increase the value we offer to agents and agencies, and to meet strategic objectives and priorities
    • collaborate with peers to handle issues and capitalize on opportunities as a team


    Basic Job Requirements

    • BA/BS or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • experience and demonstrated success with key account management, relational sales management, and/or customer success management
    • demonstrated knowledge of Medicare and other Senior insurance products
    • high level of technology/business acumen
    • experience training and developing others
    • understanding of grassroots marketing and digital marketing tactics and how to implement them in different settings
    • computer and internet proficiency, especially proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
    • experience working with a CRM (Customer Relations Management system)
    • proficient communication in English (verbal and written); excellent grammar and spelling
    • experience with online training platforms and videoconferencing tools, e.g., Teams, WebEx, GoToMeeting, Zoom
    • an excellent phone voice combined with the ability to speak clearly and communicate well by phone for 6 hours per day
    • some occasional domestic travel may be required for insurance industry events, agent training/outreach, etc.


    Preferred Qualifications

    • broker/manager experience for a Medicare insurance carrier
    • experience working with and motivating 1099 insurance agents
    • experience working with/for FMOs 
    • entrepreneurial experience, large or small
    • community/volunteer leadership experience
    • experience using AgencyBloc and/or Salesforce CRM platforms
