Evaluates and implements appropriate new sales techniques to increase the region's sales volume. May recommend product or service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Regional Sales Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Regional Sales Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     The Sales Manager has a primary duty of helping to manage the company's sales department as it relates to sales. Supports the company’s leadership, purpose, mission, and values.

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Leads and manages the sales department employees. Has the authority and responsibility to recommend hires, fires, allocate work, provide training, set and inspect performance expectations, evaluate performance, reward and recognize, discipline, and recommend wage changes, promotions, transfers, or any other change of employee status. His/her recommendations are given serious weight in each decision.
    • Leads group and individual meetings on a weekly basis; Train on sales products and services weekly and initiates and participates in role playing.
    • Reviewing business items – sales numbers, forecasting, etc.
    • Perform weekly 1:1’s, develop and discuss training strategy with reps and leadership.
    • Formulates and implements strategies with the goals of having: 1) each employee meet or exceed his/her projected monthly sales goals; and 2) the company consistently meet or exceed its budgeted monthly and annual sales goals.
    • Accompany sales reps to appointments in the field weekly; Complete evaluation form during/after every appointment; Meet with sales rep to review evaluation form within 24 hours of the appointment; Assign follow-up with for sales rep when applicable.
    • Facilitate referral partner meetings and hand offs when the opportunity arises.
    • Oversees the paperwork of the sales department to ensure clear communication among all departments of the company and customers.
    • Works to resolve all issues with customers; Visits customer when customer is not satisfied with sales process; Ensures customers have a remarkable experience.
    • Develops a network of industry professionals, such as engineers, architects, contractors, and so on. Initiates, cultivates, and maintains relationships to instill trust and confidence, and ultimately creates sales leads. Attends and presents at special industry-related events, outings, and trade shows to build this network of professionals.



    Requirements

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS

    • Knowledge of sales, marketing, and/or customer service principles and practices.  
    • Knowledge of construction principles and practices preferred.
    • Skill in operating a personal computer and programs.
    • Ability to detect/recognize information in written materials and on computer screen 75-100% of time.
    • Skill in verbal (including presentation skills) and written communication.
    • Ability to understand, speak, read, and write in English.
    • Associates or bachelor’s degree preferred and 2 years of sales and/or sales management experience OR a combination of education and experience that illustrates a proven track record in this field.
    • Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects.
    • Ability to move about/traverse up to 50% of the time. 
    • A valid driver’s license, a safe driving record, and the ability to drive for the company.
