Registered Respiratory Therapist assists in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with pulmonary disorders. Collects and analyzes sputum, blood, and breath specimens to determine levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases. Being a Registered Respiratory Therapist also measures the lung capacity of a patient to determine if there is impaired function. Administers treatment prescribed by a physician for the care of patients with abnormalities associated with the process of breathing. Additionally, Registered Respiratory Therapist assumes primary responsibility for respiratory care treatments, including oversight of respiratory therapy technicians. Requires an associate degree. Requires Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification. Requires State License to Practice. Typically reports to a manager. PeaceHealth is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a Temporary, 0.90 FTE, Day position. Hourly compensation starts at $30.98, more depending on experience.
Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 including 2 doses of a 2-dose series or 1 dose of a 1-dose series plus 14 days beyond the final dose prior to start date.
JOB SUMMARY
Cares for the Cardio-Pulmonary needs of all assigned patients, from those who are undergoing routine diagnostic procedures to those requiring more complex critical care support, intervention, and transport support, as applicable to care setting. The work requires a team focus working collaboratively with all members of the healthcare team aimed toward the best outcome for the patient and organization.
