Registrar oversees university/college's system of student records. Responsible for class registration, assigning classroom space, and updating student records. Being a Registrar ensures that all requirements have been met prior to graduation and that diplomas are factually correct. Determines students who have achieved certain scholastic goals, such as the Dean's List. Additionally, Registrar requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Registrar contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. The Registrar is responsible for the supervision and management of all administrative and operational functions of the Office of the Registrar. The Registrar ensures the integrity, accuracy, and security of all academic records of current and former students; facilitate effective student registration and enrollment; and maintains up-to-date course schedules. The Registrar supervises the processes for the articulation of transfer credits, graduation and certification of degree and certificate program, SEVIS certification, enrollment, and degree verification, production of official transcripts, diplomas, and commencement ceremonies. The Registrar counsels and advises students, faculty ,and staff on questions relating to academic records; and interprets and enforces policies and regulations of the institution and FERPA.
OBLIGATIONS OF THE REGISTRAR
Hours: The Registrar is a full-time employee. Full time employment is based on 40 hours per week of day and/or evening hours. The regular schedule should include hours which allow both day and evening students access to the Registrar.
