JOB SUMMARY

The Registrar Position is responsible for implementing the registration process for school-age and family child care programs. Responsibilities include on-sight monitoring of child care facilities to ensure compliance with licensing requirements; reviewing and recommending/approving case actions; and investigating complaints involving violations of the New York State Child Care Regulations and violations of licensing requirements, including abuse and neglect of children in both licensed and unlicensed facilities; and assisting child care providers in meeting minimum requirements and attaining optimum quality by providing on-going technical assistance and consultation to the facility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Review and process registration and renewal applications
• Conduct inspections for compliance to regulations and in response to complaints
• Maintain inspection and compliance documentation in the Child Care Facility System
• Provide technical assistance to help potential applicants understand and comply with regulations
• Send notices and follow-up with providers subject to regulation
• Work in collaboration with the Education/Training Team to accomplish professional development goals for all registered providers

QUALIFICATIONS

• A minimum of Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required, Bachelor Degree preferred
• A minimum of three to five years’ experience in early childhood or school-age setting required
• Home visitation experience preferred
• Must have insured vehicle and be legally eligible to drive to regular program assignments
• Must be able to respond to diverse physical demands of program assignments.
• Must be able to perform the above essential duties in the following manner:

NON-EXEMPT $50,000 - $60,000 annually/ $25.64 – 30.77 hourly

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
