General Qualifications
The Reservation and Event Services (RES) Registrar (part-time) is a Ministerial position. Ministerial staff render their work, stewardship, relationships and behavior as evidence of being followers of Jesus Christ while embracing and affirming Mount Hermon Association, Inc.’s (“MHA”) Christian mission, vision, beliefs, culture code and standards of conduct. They are responsible for defining, cultivating and leading MHA’s Christian community, conference programs and retreats. All staff are expected to join gatherings, which includes prayer, worship, and Bible-centered teaching.
Position Objective
The RES Registrar I is responsible for taking and managing individual and group registrations for an event to provide the guest(s) with excellent service and confidence that their reservation is complete, in addition to providing and maintaining an accurate collection of key guest details to ensure lodging, meals and other critical guest services are planned for each event in a manner consistent with MHA’s mission, vision and values.
Key Job Accountabilities
• Manage camp and conference reservations (by phone, mail, e-mail or in person), including initial contact, computer data entry, subsequent correspondence, confirmation, and final summary (closeout).
• Acquire a working knowledge of and assist with reservations for all other camps and conferences.
• Efficiently operate the RES Office telephone lines and serve guests at the front desk as needed.
• Prepare for and coordinate check-in for MHA-sponsored events.
• Maintain appropriate files and supplies.
• Assist in the training of and coordination of daily work for summer and part-time Registrar Assistants.
• Publish documents and/or utilize technology as required to keep all departments advised of current status of camps and conferences.
• Act as receiving agent of money as directed by RES management.
• Oversee orderliness of the RES Office, informing Supervisor of recommended physical improvements and recommend purchasing of supplies/equipment.
• Assist at the front counter for check-in and throughout the conference for weekend and mid-week Guest Group events.
• Other duties as needed and directed by manager.

Part-time, non-exempt position; $17.50-21.50/hour.
Education
• Minimum of a high school diploma; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Work Experience
• Two years of event planning or administrative experience – preferably in Christian camping/hospitality – or any combination of equivalent training, education and experience.

• Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
• Ability to problem solve in the moment, with limited time and resources.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Superior interpersonal skills.
• Skill to use a personal computer and various software packages, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to learn and to assist in the concept development of new software packages.
Physical Demands
• The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Requires typing, sitting, standing, squatting, stooping, twisting, and the ability to lift/carry 25lbs.
