Regulatory Affairs Director oversees regulatory matters and executes the strategy to ensure the organization complies with applicable regulations. Develops processes and systems to ensure that all necessary licensing, filings, certifications, and permits are processed and monitored. Being a Regulatory Affairs Director establishes monitoring policies and procedures to ensure compliance with existing regulations. Anticipates new or changing regulations and coordinates with internal stakeholders to develop strategies to address changes in product, operations, or testing requirements. Additionally, Regulatory Affairs Director investigates and addresses any reported issues of non-compliance. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Regulatory Affairs Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Regulatory Affairs Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Job Summary

    Responsible for the research, development, planning, design, maintenance and implementation of policies and programs that enhance the organization's relations with the community, the public, governmental and regulatory authorities, shareholders and employees. Collaborates with the VP and broader EA organization to deliver effective communications and advocacy to support Comcast's business initiatives. Support effective relationships with third parties. Influences and shapes and integrates strategy for functional area(s).

    Job Description

    Core Responsibilities

    • Develops and implements strategy for government affairs and public policy issues for Comcast service area in Missouri and Kansas, as well as strategy for local regulatory initiatives.
    • Provides strategic leadership and direction for the External Affairs team that encourages and embraces diversity of thought and drives change with projects and activities.
    • Develops and maintains relationships with third party group such as businesses groups and economic development groups that are beneficial to the company.
    • Support Region growth initiatives including grant applications and compliance initiatives.
    • Develops and maintains relationships with government representatives and regulators at the federal, state and local level. Travels to attend meetings, hearings, or other events to represent the company.
    • Works directly with public relations team to develop effective internal and external communications strategies to enhance the organization's relations.
    • Creates, implements and achieves realistic, aggressive goals to align with corporate affairs policies and strategies.
    • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
    • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
    • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
