Regulatory Affairs Director oversees regulatory matters and executes the strategy to ensure the organization complies with applicable regulations. Develops processes and systems to ensure that all necessary licensing, filings, certifications, and permits are processed and monitored. Being a Regulatory Affairs Director establishes monitoring policies and procedures to ensure compliance with existing regulations. Anticipates new or changing regulations and coordinates with internal stakeholders to develop strategies to address changes in product, operations, or testing requirements. Additionally, Regulatory Affairs Director investigates and addresses any reported issues of non-compliance. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Regulatory Affairs Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Regulatory Affairs Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Job Duties

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Duties include:  Assist in recruiting and training of student workers who can gather information, write news stories, and produce a regularly scheduled newscast.  Assist in recruiting and training of student workers who can produce high-quality interview programs on relevant and interesting public affairs topics.  Serve as an on-air news and public affairs host when necessary.  Supervise unpaid student workers who work on public affairs programming and ensure that all scheduled duties are performed.  If appropriate, designate experienced student workers as assistant news and public affairs directors.  Assist in the acquisition of shows produced by other programming services.  Maintain the station’s public affairs archives.  Coordinate with other directors to ensure that programs are broadcast as scheduled.  Maintain a record of public affairs programming dealing with significant community issues as part of the station’s “public file.”  Assist in the development of a diverse news and public affairs programming schedule that reflects the university’s mission to provide an educational, noncommercial broadcasting service while also offering a learning opportunity for student staff members.  Work with station personnel and campus groups to produce live public affairs programming.  Work with the program director and the webmaster to develop relevant and timely public affairs-related content for WISU’s website. Performs other duties as assigned.
