Regulatory Affairs Manager manages regulatory matters and executes the strategy to ensure the organization complies with applicable regulations. Implements processes and systems to ensure that all necessary licensing, filings, certifications, and permits are processed and monitored. Being a Regulatory Affairs Manager utilizes established monitoring policies and procedures to ensure compliance with existing regulations. Anticipates new or changing regulations and coordinates with internal stakeholders to develop strategies to address changes in product, operations, or testing requirements. Additionally, Regulatory Affairs Manager investigates and addresses any reported issues of non-compliance. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Regulatory Affairs Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Regulatory Affairs Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Providence Health Plan is calling a Director Regulatory Affairs who will:

    • Be responsible for managing and developing a team tasked with performing regulatory consulting and regulatory product lifecycle support for all Providence Health Plan and Providence Health Assurance business activity and strategic initiatives
    • Provide support for all lines of business, including Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, individual market, employer group plan offerings and services, and ancillary lines
    • Be responsible for managing interpretation and dissemination of state and federal regulatory requirements applicable to all health plan activity
    • Be responsible for guiding the organization to successful approval by regulators of all product offerings including supporting rate, benefit, and network filings
    • Ensure mandatory regulatory reporting occurs accurately and on time
    • Impact PHP's legal and regulatory obligations as well as financial obligations to health plan customers

    Required qualifications for this position include:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Healthcare Administration, or other related field of study -OR- a combination of equivalent education / experience
    • 10 years of experience in regulatory compliance or oversight, auditing, risk management, law, government regulations or another related field
    • 5 years managed care or health insurance experience
    • 5 years management experience (Qualifying experience may include: Overseeing legal assistants, Paralegals or other similar indirect reporting)

    Preferred qualifications for this position include:

    • Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or related field -OR- J.D.
