Regulatory Affairs Specialist supports the oversight of regulatory matters and strategy implementation to ensure the organization complies with applicable regulations. Prepares filings and tracks applications for licensing, certification, and permits and interacts with governmental officials during the regulation and certification process. Being a Regulatory Affairs Specialist monitors compliance with existing regulations and upcoming or changing regulations. Performs impact analysis of regulatory changes and produces status reports. Additionally, Regulatory Affairs Specialist participates in processes to report, investigate, and addresses any issues of non-compliance. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Regulatory Affairs Specialist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Senior EHS Regulatory Compliance Specialist/Project Manager

(GZA) is currently seeking a Senior Level EHS Regulatory Compliance Specialist/Project Manager to join our Bedford, NH team. The ideal candidate must be a highly motivated independent self-starter with a client-oriented focus.  The position will include performing various technical tasks at client facilities, conducting complex technical analyses and calculations, and preparing various types of reports and documents including regulatory programs, audit reports, permit applications, and environmental management-system-related documentation.  Some travel and overnight stays may be required at times.  This position may also involve being outsourced to client facilities.   

    Primary responsibilities involve:
     

    • Technical project execution in the following regulatory program areas:
      • Air emissions permitting and control
      • EPCRA
      • EH&S compliance auditing
      • Wastewater/stormwater permitting, monitoring, and reporting
      • Hazardous waste management
      • SPCC/SWPPP/ICP development
      • OSHA program development
      • Personnel training
      • Industrial wastewater pretreatment
    • Project Management utilizing the Deltek project management software:
      • Manage project budgets and schedules
      • Track profitability, multiplier, and utilization
    • Business Development:
      • Prepare proposals for technical services
      • Attend professional networking events
      • Identify project opportunities
      • Make technical presentations for market visibility
      • Maintain active networking with existing and new clients
    • Technical Practice:
      • Maintain technical leadership for the practice area in the Bedford office
      • Drive technical development for market leadership
      • Identify areas for technical improvement and investment
    • Staff Development:
      • Integrate junior and mid-level staff into projects
      • Assist with the development of the technical skills of the staff
      • Mentor staff
    • Additional Duties:
      • Participates in the annual business planning for the Bedford office
      • Participates in monthly business development meetings and actions
      • Thinks creatively to advance the practice in the office
      • Applies innovative thinking to technical work
      • Keeps abreast of emerging technologies
      • May perform additional duties as assigned


    Qualifications: 

    • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, science, health, or related technical field (Master’s Degree a plus)
    • 10 years of relevant experience and knowledge of applicable EH&S laws and regulations throughout the New England area
    • Ability to complete tasks independently and within a team
    • Exceptional professional judgment, consistency, and strong attention to detail
    • Demonstrate performance of analysis, problem solving, and strong organizational skills
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Experience preparing reports that demonstrate technical knowledge
    • Strong interest in occupational health and safety
    • Completed 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training (preferred)
