    About the Opportunity

    This is an open position with the FirstEnergy Service Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [SC00]

    This Regulatory Program coordinator performs regulatory reporting and inspection work for the Distribution function of the Company.

    This position can be sited at any FirstEnergy service location within the Reading or York operating regions of PA East and is considered mobile (remote).

    Responsibilities include:

    • Demonstrating and directing a solid commitment to all aspects of safety.
    • Planning and scheduling Electrical Service and Safety Standards (ESSS) inspection activities annually; develop, plan, coordinate, and conduct annual ESSS process training for all groups of inspectors.
    • Initiating follow up work for repairs needed in SAP (DX notifications) and release to customer request work scheduling (CREWS).
    • Entering M3 repairs completed during ESSS inspections on the SAP order number.
    • Working with the Line Shops on repair work requests. Track and monitor all repairs for each line shop.
    • Utilizing geographical information system (GIS)/Gatekeeper Distribution Line Inspections (DLI) software reports to review progress of inspections by site and units for ESSS automated inspections performed with MDT/TOUGHBOOK tool.
    • Providing monthly/annual reporting to the Operating Company Management and Corporate Regulatory Group on the ESSS Program.
    • Participating in Public Utilities Commission (PUC) desk audits of the ESSS Inspection Programs.
    • Coordinating ESSS Inspection Program audits performed by the Corporate Internal Auditing Group or Corporate Operations Services Groups.
    • Following up on concerns and issues discovered during ESSS activities. Providing support to Line Supervisors and Planners with ESSS responsibilities to help ensure that all Operating Company, Corporate Regulatory, and PUC requirements are met.
    • Assisting in the creation of processes (flow charting) and supporting documentation (manuals and charts).
    • Creating new processes to integrate ESSS inspection/repair activities with other on-going Operating Company activities as necessary.
    • Updating recloser records and addressing missing/incorrect information in SAP and GIS following ESSS inspections.
    • Retaining all ESSS inspection records and documentation for durations as specified by the PUC.
    • Following up with Mapping and Records group on any required GIS changes resulting from ESSS inspection activities.
    • Preparing regulatory commitment report and monthly/quarterly reports for PUC.
    • Creating data for contractors to use when inspecting poles, audit contractor reports and update records as required.
    • Performing regulated PUC-driven ESSS circuit inspections.
    • Performing circuit inspections and patrols for maintenance programs, condition work, proposed projects, and AEC/regulatory required projects.
    • Assisting during emergencies and storm-related activities and travel to various off-site locations as well as FirstEnergy office locations, training facilities and customer sites, when requested.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology or related discipline and 0 to 4 years related work experience are required.
    • OR high school diploma or equivalent and minimum 2 to 5 years related work experience are required.  Related work experience includes knowledge of planning/scheduling of work, construction and maintenance practices, procedures, work methods, materials, equipment and tools which would be used to determine the resources necessary to perform construction and maintenance work activities.
    • Develops knowledge of National Electric Safety Code (NESC) and National Electric Code (NEC), and Customer Guide for Electric Services (CGES).
    • Understands the Company’s Accident Prevention Handbook and Manual of Operations and its practical application in the workplace.
    • Self-motivated and able to balance competing priorities. 
    • Provides quality customer service, both internally and externally.
    • Possesses solid verbal and written communication skills.
    • Experienced with PC software applications including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.), Outlook, SAP, GIS, CREWS, and database query tools.
    • Access to a personal vehicle to commute to various facilities and locations as required, and possesses a valid driver’s license.
