Regulatory Relations Liaison is responsible for filing necessary applications and handling all government interactions pertaining to the regulation and certification process for a plant or other facility. Develops procedures to ensure regulatory compliance. Being a Regulatory Relations Liaison prepares reports for top management detailing projects that may impact the organization's regulation status. May represent the organization before federal or state legislations. Additionally, Regulatory Relations Liaison requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Regulatory Relations Liaison typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Regulatory Relations Liaison typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Responsibilities:
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and one to two years related experience preferred with a working knowledge of managed care; interpretation of insurance coverage plans, co-payments and deductible schedules and payment plans.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze and interpret common professional journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, area, circumference, and interest.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
COMPUTER OPERATIONS: Proficient personal computer skills including e-mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spread sheet, and graphics.
COMMUNICATION: Excellent communication and presentation skills
Strong negotiation and market research skills
