Regulatory Relations Liaison is responsible for filing necessary applications and handling all government interactions pertaining to the regulation and certification process for a plant or other facility. Develops procedures to ensure regulatory compliance. Being a Regulatory Relations Liaison prepares reports for top management detailing projects that may impact the organization's regulation status. May represent the organization before federal or state legislations. Additionally, Regulatory Relations Liaison requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Regulatory Relations Liaison typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Regulatory Relations Liaison typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. In this entry-level position, you'll play a crucial role in evaluating hazards, assigning transportation classifications, and maintaining regulatory compliance for both internal and external products and raw materials.

    Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate within a dynamic team to support various business units.
    • Apply your expertise in GHS and Transportation regulations to assess product hazards effectively.
    • Utilize external vendor Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to evaluate transport hazards.
    • Employ in-house computer systems to accurately assign transport classifications.
    • Provide assistance on overflow regulatory compliance projects as needed.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or a related scientific field.
    • Familiarity with regulatory programs, particularly DOT/Transport regulations, is preferred.
    • Working knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) is advantageous.
    • Experience with chemical databases is a plus.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
    • Demonstrated capability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
    • Comfortable with handling repetitive tasks involving significant amounts of data.
