Primary Purpose of Job

Provides advice and guidance, on an individual and project basis, to the lines of businesses on the compliance requirements of banking laws, regulations, regulatory policies, and procedures. Gathers and reviews data for analysis, reporting, and assignment of bank regulatory compliance risk.

Major Job Accountabilities

• Provides advice and guidance to the lines of businesses on the compliance requirements of banking laws, regulations, and regulatory policies and procedures. 
• Serves as a resource for all Bank employees regarding bank regulatory compliance issues.
• Advises on the design of appropriate policies and procedures. 
• Gathers and reviews data for analysis, reporting, and assignment of regulatory risk.
• Develops and supports processes to monitor and test enterprise-wide bank regulatory compliance. 
• Interacts with the Line of Business managers to establish controls within each operating unit to address/enhance each unit’s individualized compliance risks and the control points for each identified risk. 
• Interacts with other risk management personnel to identify and evaluate compliance risk and assess mitigating factors. 
• Ensures applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures are communicated to business units. 
• Develops and/or conducts training on bank regulations and compliance requirements across the enterprise. 
• Stays current and knowledgeable about emerging issues and trends in compliance and compliance management, new and proposed banking laws, and regulations relating to compliance. 
• Promotes a corporate culture which makes compliance a top priority. 
• Advises Senior Management to ensure enterprise-wide awareness and application.

Experience Required

• Five (5) years of work experience in bank regulatory compliance function or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skills or Training 

• Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager, legal or auditing background is preferred
• Technical knowledge of the banking industry, as well as federal statutory and regulatory frameworks 
• Working knowledge of bank and operating systems 
• Excellent written, verbal, listening, presentation, and interpersonal skills 
• Able to apply independent judgment to keep projects on schedule while remaining flexible in a demanding work environment 
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to conceptualize new ideas and complex technical matters Works thoroughly and accurately to meet schedules and deadlines
