Rehabilitation Director directs the programs and staff of the rehabilitation services department. Sets and implements guidelines for rehabilitation programs such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and other therapies. Being a Rehabilitation Director develops and implements policies and procedures pertaining to staffing and the budget for the department. Maintains working relationships with community agencies. Additionally, Rehabilitation Director monitors treatment and progress of patients. May require an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Rehabilitation Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be a Rehabilitation Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Sequoia Transitional Care is currently looking for a Director of Rehab (DOR) - Physical Therapist (PT) or Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team.
What to expect:
The Director of Rehabilitation (DOR) is responsible for the day to day activities in the rehabilitation department of an assigned facility or facilities. This includes but is not limited to: the delivery of direct and indirect services to inpatients and out-patients, supervision of all therapy personnel, interviewing and recommending new hires, and
training of all therapy personnel. The DOR is responsible for implementation of new programs to meet the needs of the facility and the residents. Is delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out all assigned duties to provide both clinical and operational oversight to the delivery of rehabilitative services.
