Rehabilitation Director jobs in Battle Creek, MI

Rehabilitation Director directs the programs and staff of the rehabilitation services department. Sets and implements guidelines for rehabilitation programs such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and other therapies. Being a Rehabilitation Director develops and implements policies and procedures pertaining to staffing and the budget for the department. Maintains working relationships with community agencies. Additionally, Rehabilitation Director monitors treatment and progress of patients. May require an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Rehabilitation Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be a Rehabilitation Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.   • Responsibilities:
    Responsibility for developing, planning, implementing and evaluation activity programs for residents in accordance with state and federal regulations. Ensure that the spiritual, emotional, recreational, leisure and social needs of the residents are maintained on a group and individual basis.

    Qualifications:
    • CTRS, MMT, or AT preferred.
    • Must have RAC and be in good standing, if not a CTRS, MMT, or AT.
    • At least 1 year of experience working in the Activities Department in a healthcare setting.
    • Must have the ability to read and write in English and follow oral and written directions.
    • Must have a genuine interest and caring for the elderly.
    • Must be able to relate positively to residents and family and to work cooperatively with other employees.
    • Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.
    • Must meet all federal, state and local health regulations and pass a post-employment-offer physical exam. This requirement includes drug screening, criminal background investigation and reference inquiries.
    • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this job, with or without accommodation.
    • Must be aware of the recreational needs of the elderly and cognitively impaired.
