Rehabilitation Director - Nursing Home directs the programs and staff of the rehabilitation services department for a nursing home. Develops and implements rehabilitation programs by working with the operational leadership team and medical staff. Being a Rehabilitation Director - Nursing Home sets and implements guidelines for rehabilitation programs such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. Responsible for the direction, planning, and operation of the rehabilitation function. Additionally, Rehabilitation Director - Nursing Home develops and implements policies and procedures regarding staffing and budget. May require an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. May require a professional certification. The Rehabilitation Director - Nursing Home typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Bachelor's degree in a rehabilitation discipline (Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech-Language Pathology) required; Master's degree preferred
2. Licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required in the state of practice
3. Minimum of 3 years' direct patient care experience and 1 year management experience preferred
4. Thorough knowledge of Medicare and third party billing required
5. Must have good verbal and written communication skills
6. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions and problem solve appropriately
7. Must have thorough knowledge of all state practice acts
8. Must possess the ability to positively interact with personnel, patients, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public
