Duties```
- Plan, organize, and coordinate a variety of activities for residents in a long term care setting; rehabilitation setting and dementia care setting.
- Develop and implement engaging programs that promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
- Create a monthly activity calendar that offers a diverse range of activities to meet the needs and interests of residents.
- Lead group activities such as exercise classes, arts and crafts, games, and social events.
- Coordinate special events and outings for residents, including holiday parties, community outings, and entertainment.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure activities are integrated into the overall care plan for each resident.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation in activities and document any changes or concerns observed.
- Provide support and guidance to residents and their families regarding available resources and programs.
```Qualifications```
- Experience in event planning or recreational therapy is preferred.
-Therapeutic Recreational Therapy degree or Activity Director Certification preferred.
- Knowledge of senior care principles, including dementia care and aging issues.
-Must be able to pass the State Activity Director Certification.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules and coordinate multiple activities simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff members.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor with a genuine interest in improving the quality of life for seniors.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
-Must be able to oversee the budget for activities and events.
-Conduct surveys to measure resident satisfaction and assess participants to determine which activities suit their needs.
-Maintain spaces and equipment used for activities.
