Reimbursement Services Director directs and supervises the activities of the claims and provider reimbursement personnel. Handles third-party reimbursement for services rendered to patients. Being a Reimbursement Services Director sets procedures for filing reimbursement claims and ensures timely and accurate claims payments. Monitors, evaluates and reviews all cost reporting in support of reimbursement claims. Additionally, Reimbursement Services Director develops policies and procedures compliant with fiscal and regulatory requirements. Oversees the collection of statistical and financial data needed for preparing annual and monthly health insurance reports. May require an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. Duties/Responsibilities:
Active member of the interdisciplinary care team.
Responsible for the assessment, care planning, and implementation of the psychosocial, mental, emotional and behavioral needs of the residents.
Acts as liaison between resident, family, facility staff and community.
Provides crisis intervention and supportive counseling to residents/families as needed.
Completes MDS assessments in accordance with facility guidelines.
Discharge planning services for short term rehabilitation residents.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Master’s degree in social work or Bachelor’s Degree in social services or related human service field.
At least one year experience as a Social Worker dealing with the adult/geriatric population in a long term care/rehabilitation setting.
