Reimbursement Specialist - Healthcare jobs in Abilene, TX

We’re seeking a Regional Reimbursement Nurse to add to our growing team!  This position will cover long-term care facilities in and around the Brownwood and San Angelo areas.

Responsibilities:

• Support Facility Staff :Schedules residents for appropriate admission, annual, quarterly, Medicare assessment or change-of-condition assessments, overseeing communication to nursing and other departments.
• Assures compliance with Federal and State regulations regarding completion/coordination of the comprehensive assessment (MDS).
• Monitors MDS and care plan documentation on all residents, assuring that complete, orderly chronological and current documentation is in file.
• Maintains proficiency in software.
• Coordinate and attends regular Medicaid meetings to discuss current residents, pending residents and recipients.
• Coordinate and attends all ITTM meetings in order to gather information, communicate changes, maintain and update the clinical records including the Care plan.
• Performs care plan updates as needed.
• Provide DON, Administrator and pertinent staff with the Quality Indicators Report.
• Perform transmissions of the MDS on a timely basis.
• Remains current with changes in the industry through attendance at outside workshops and conferences.
• Perform Ancillary management, collection and reporting to corporate billing personnel.

Requirements:

• Licensed Nurse in good standing.
• Geriatric nursing background.
• Restorative care philosophy, excellent professional skill (both assessment and hands-on and good communication and organization skills).
• Working knowledge of nursing home regulations.
• Ability to work independently as well as a meaningful member of the team.
• Excellent organizational skills in order to coordinate many projects simultaneously.
