In this position, you provide expert consultation to healthcare personnel in the development, implementation, and maintenance of infection prevention and control plans, policies, and procedures. You consult with multidisciplinary teams and facility infection prevention staff to develop prevention and control strategies and disease surveillance protocols.
This position is technical, consultative, and analytical. It involves interaction with healthcare facility infection control personnel and other facility staff, including medical personnel as well as internal and external customers which may include healthcare providers, patients, residents, other departmental and governmental units, and the public in general. Work is performed independently and is reviewed by an Epidemiologist Supervisor or higher-level administrator for program effectiveness.
