We are seeking a full-time Reimbursement Specialist to be the main liaison for Medicare, Medi-Cal and Private Insurance billing and to assist with all requests for information in order for BTBH to receive payment.

By the Bay Health follows all CDPH vaccine requirements for healthcare personnel.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Gather, verify, and document all patient information in preparation for admission, including eligibility and benefits, insurance ID numbers, patient address and phone number, insurance company address and phone number.
• Prepare all invoices and perform collections for Medicare, Medi-Cal and private insurance billing.
• Verify all information that is entered into Epic for accuracy including pay source, physician information, location information, Room and Board rates.  Make corrections as needed in a timely manner.
• Perform all eligibility checks, billing & collections for Medicare patients utilizing the Medicare HIQA and DDE systems.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Accounting or related field from a four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of three years accounting experience. Healthcare or not-for-profit experience desirable.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

• Current California Driver’s License and automobile insurance that meets State of California requirements, if driving a car.

Pay Range:
$24.00 - $34.00 hourly
