American Endovascular is seeking full time Medical Insurance Eligibility/Authorization Specialist. The person in this role will be responsible for verifying patients insurance and obtaining authorizations as well as coordinating with the doctors for cases and patients that need to be seen.

Responsibilities:

• Speak with patients by telephone, or email, to collect accurate information for admission or registration, to include financial and insurance information.
• Complete appropriate forms with detailed eligibility, benefit and pre-certification/ authorization information to ensure accurate claims and working directly with multiple insurance websites to obtain benefits and authorization validation.
• Adheres to the guidelines set forth in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), designed to prevent or detect unauthorized disclosure of Protected Health Information (PHI).
• May need to explain to the patient their responsibility of payment after insurance has paid.
• Explains insurance coverages and requirements for precertification/preauthorization, as applicable.
• Compiles and distributes information regarding patients' personal, insurance and financial status.
• Provides appropriate forms to billing and other departments.
• Verifies insurance benefits assigned to the organization to determine if insurance coverage meets appropriate standards.
• Corresponds with patients to acquire required authorizations and assignments of benefits.
• Maintains the insurance master file and updates as necessary.
• Works with appropriate sources to coordinate precertification requirements with PROs, HMOs and other contractual third parties.

Requirements:

• HS Diploma
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to multi-task
• Customer Service experience
• Authorizations and Eligibility experience is a must.
