Reinsurance Director is responsible for the administration of reinsurance plans. Maintains plan records and ensures compliance with federal regulations. Being a Reinsurance Director communicates with customers and assists with plan design and distribution when necessary. Ensures timely accounting, reporting and auditing. Additionally, Reinsurance Director researches and analyzes reinsurance prices and specifications. Communicates with underwriting area to verify the proper reinsurance administration is put in place. Supports the investigation of proposed reinsurance opportunities, rate comparisons, and profitability analysis. May have responsibility for reinsurance customer service. Has attained industry designations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Reinsurance Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Reinsurance Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. The leader is responsible for end-to-end delivery of the RAP program (including identification of rotations, managers, timing of placements, program communications). This is a hybrid position based in Warren, NJ working 3 days in office, 2 remote. Responsibilities: Responsible for the strategic and tactical delivery of the RAP program Liaise with rotation managers on cohort calibrations, assessments, placements, focused development, and placements/leadership support structures, identification of rotations, and all program communication). Track program participants progress and performance. Partner with the Early Talent Acquisition Team and department managers to review, assess and interview candidates for the Reinsurance Early Talent Programs Collaborate with HR Talent Development and peer managers to develop program content, and training for the Rotational Program, prepare managers to support early talent experiences that result in retention, inclusion, and belonging. Ability to interact, consult and communicate with senior executives regarding program status and updates. Chair the Operating Committee: Strategize and consult on program parameters, process, rollout, develop and execute agenda. Prepare and deliver executive ready presentations. Expand and elevate the entry level employee experience. Serves as main point of contact for Program participants. Meet regularly with program participants to review progress and provide feedback. (e.g. day-to-day administration, support, guidance, etc.) Deliver, measure and communicate results to key stakeholders. Identify department managers in the organization to volunteer to guide and mentor program participants, review progress and provide feedback. Detailed Expectations of Role Ensure optimal type and number of rotations and manager capacity (to optimize experience) Align rotations to growing business lines Act as direct manager (for purposes of time-off approvals, goal-setting, performance management) – rotational manager can focus on day-to-day guidance/deliverables Engage continuously with participants to keep a pulse Ensure meaningful work is happening Broker visits are occurring Ensure consistent employee experience across rotations Better connected to the broker community – to leverage relationships to organize events Identify any manager engagement issues early Identify common development needs and coordinate potential solutions with HR Talent and Development Partner with HRBP on compensation analyses, calibration of talent and career pathing Provide an unbiased view of talent across the cohort Identify high retention risks for early mitigation Identify best role fit post program Qualifications: 5 years of experience Insurance and/or finance industry experience a plus PMP certification a plus Six sigma certifications a plus Experience in storytelling with metrics/analytics a plus Preferred degree in organizational, industrial psychology, HR Labor Relations or related field Our Culture At Everest, our purpose is to provide the world with protection.
