Reinsurance Specialist performs routine reinsurance administrative duties, such as maintaining records, processing and verifying new business. Organizes the preparation of monthly and annual reports and ensures reinsurance information has been recorded accurately. Being a Reinsurance Specialist performs reconciliation of premium billing statements and DAC tax calculations and maintenance of various reinsurance operations. Researches and resolves the more complex cases and provides guidance to others. Additionally, Reinsurance Specialist may review work performed by others and train new staff. Works towards industry designations (e.g., FLMI, ARA, ACS, etc.). Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Reinsurance Specialist gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Job Functions :
Provide quality services based on established best practice principlesConduct appropriate aftercare follow-upMaintain quality documentation of clinical serviceComplete accurate and timely clinical documentation, including but not limited to progress notes, treatment plans, risk assessments, safety plans, and discharge planningProvide all supporting documentation required for insurance authorization in a timelyParticipate in both internal and external multidisciplinary treatment team meetingsEstablish and maintain effective working relationships with program residents, their families, payers, and behavioral health providers, including case management and ACT Teams, MCO care managers, and other local county and community partnersEstablish and maintain strong working relationships with local police, EMS, and emergency department staffPrepare clear and concise reports and communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Minimum Requirements :
Experience and / or Education : Bachelor's degree in social sciences with relevant professional experience of at least 5 years
Master's degree in social sciences with relevant professional experience of at least 3 years
Clearances :
Child Abuse Clearance, Criminal clearance, and fingerprint-based federal criminal history; Verification that employee is not on any Medicaid / Medicare Exclusion list.
Note :
At the discretion of the Personnel Officer, additional related experience and / or education may be substituted instead of the requirements specified under Education and Experience
Compensation Package :
Chimes-Holcomb offers a generous benefits package to all employees who work a minimum of 30 hours per week. Benefits are available on the first day of a new month after completing 30 days of employment.
