DEFINITION
Under general supervision, plans, organizes, coordinates, and administers alternative sentencing and community work/service programs; provides site supervision of program participants; conducts interviews and assessments for placement of program participants; evaluates projects and sites; plans, estimates, and secures supplies, equipment, and materials for projects; fosters cooperative working relationships with various public and private groups; and performs related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Receives general supervision from the assigned program supervisor. May provide technical and functional direction to assigned staff. Exercises supervision of program participants.
CLASS CHARACTERISTICS
This is a fully competent classification responsible for coordinating and implementing the County’s alternative sentencing and community work/service programs. Responsibilities include working with other County departments and external agencies to identify opportunities for projects; procuring resources; interviewing and conducting placement assessments of program participants; ensuring compliance with applicable department and County policies and procedures; and maintaining records and reporting statistics related to the program.
