Release Inc is a faith-based non-profit working within the Omaha community for nearly 30 years. The primary vision of_ Release Inc_ is that the youth and families of Omaha would be Safe, Together, Healthy, and Free. Release is a licensed foster placement agency, has a staff team that provides a variety of social services to court-involved families in their homes or local community, has a youth mentoring program, maintains staff chaplains in local juvenile detention centers, and most recently offers a variety of therapeutic mental health services with our team of licensed clinicians.
As a Community Intervention Specialist, you will play a vital role in the Community-Based Initiatives (CBI) team, working directly with families to complete court orders as they work towards reunification.
New employees will start hourly for two months for training and evaluation. After that period, you will be evaluated and eligible for the salaried position.
Job Responsibilities:
· This individual will work in the homes of families to help maintain safety and prevent unnecessary disruption or separation of the family.
· The individual will work closely with parents, foster parents, youth, and other professionals in the home or community setting.
· The individual will offer positive support, parenting skills, and life skills training.
· The individual will help children and families develop support find resources within their communities and collaborate with other providers to help provide the best spectrum of care.
· The individual will utilize professional assessment tools to create a treatment plan for each client reflective of their strengths, weaknesses, and goals.
· The individual is responsible for accurately documenting each interaction with clients in the form of a written monthly report to be submitted to the client’s respective assigning agency.
· The individual will staff each client with the Supervisor weekly to assess progress.
· The individual will complete all required training before working with families and will accrue a minimum of 24 hours of continuing education training per calendar year.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree or higher is required.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to handle conflict and stressful situations.
· Ability to identify family strengths and foster independence in families.
· Clear background check and current driver's license
· Must be able to pass a drug screen.
· Preferred: individuals who can work evening and weekend hours primarily
