    Reports to: Regional Supervisor

    Responsible for providing culturally and linguistically appropriate follow-up services and comprehensive case management for Unaccompanied Children (UC). Provide culturally and linguistically appropriate services and comprehensive case management for UC; responsible for conducting calls, interviews, developing individual case plans with particular attention to culture, language, and special circumstances, and maintaining case files; provide information, education, referrals, outreach, advocacy, and support to ensure that each child receives the services they require; assess the safety and appropriateness of the placement on an ongoing basis using child welfare principles and social work best practices; build a network of local pro bono legal resources/services and care providers to establish services for UC; facilitate access and remove barriers to those services, and track individual progress via an online database; responsible for submitting written reports as required, coordinating and maintaining communication with key stakeholders, and participating in regular training and communication sessions with USCRI- U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants headquarters staff

    Job Responsibilities:

    In Home Visitation

    • Provide assessments of child and/or placement family
    • Provide appropriate follow-up services and comprehensive case management for UAC
    • Conduct phone calls, interview, and home visits with UAC, proposed sponsors, and shelter staff.
    • Develop individual case plans with particular attention to culture, language, and special circumstances
    • Provide information, education, referrals, outreach, advocacy, and support to ensure that each child receives the services they require
    • Assess the safety and appropriateness of the placement on an ongoing basis using child welfare principles and social work best practices
    • Facilitate access and remove barriers to services

    Documentation

    • Maintain case files and Children's Bureau documentation in accordance with our funder and Children's Bureau rules and regulations
    • Submit written reports as required:
    • Track individual progress via an online database

    Community

    • Build a network of local pro bono legal resources/services and care providers to establish services for UAC
    • Coordinate and maintain communication with key stakeholders
    • Participate in regular training and communication sessions with USCRI headquarters staff
    • Networks to develop/maintain high quality community profile
    • Supports agency initiatives related to Trauma Informed, Resilience-Oriented Care (TIROC) and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
    • Develops/maintain effective working relationships with all individuals and agencies impacting CB programs

    General

    • Maintain confidentiality in matters of agency operations, personnel, and clients
    • Maintain positive communications with all agency staff, clients, and volunteers
    • Exercise good judgment in performance of duties and responsibilities
    • Support existing agency policies, principles, and mission
    • Staff must be able to provide evidence of full vaccination against Covid-19 including boosters as available
    • Other duties as assigned

    Job Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related field from an accredited university required.
    • Two years successful experience case management and advocacy with families, children, and/or parents, preferably on behalf of immigrant and refugee children
    • Experience in child welfare, child placements, juvenile delinquency, and/or probation
    • Possess an extensive knowledge of immigrant community local resources
    • Excellent organizational, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
    • Ability to prioritize duties in a fast-paced environment
    • Must have dedication to the human rights of refugees, immigrants, asylum seekers and displaced people.
    • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
    • Bilingual English/Spanish required
    • Must have a valid driver's license, insurance, and a clean driving record, and personal transportation.
    • Position requires up to 25 percent long distance travel with limited notice.
    • Position is remote and the candidate must have an appropriate workspace to complete documentation, client phone calls, and video conferencing.
