Additionally, Reliability Engineer creates risk-based failure mitigation plans. Proposes new or revised product designs, manufacturing processes and testing specifications that utilize best practices and will increase reliability. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Typically reports to an engineering manager. The Reliability Engineer work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. A day in the life of an AES Clean Energy Reliability Engineer will include, but is not limited to:
The Reliability Engineer supports a larger operations team and serves as the domain expert for technical and engineering matters related to the reliable and available operation of photovoltaic plants and grid-scale battery storage systems. Excellent communication, task management and planning skills needed, in addition to technical breadth.
The role will focus on the mechanical and electrical operation of photovoltaics, batteries, and related equipment/components. The role will require the review of information related to all practical elements of photovoltaic and battery system design. The successful applicant, while not an expert, will be comfortable with high-level review of all elements of practical system design.
The position can be remote or located in Louisville, CO / Salt Lake City, UT and may include up to 10-15% travel to project locations and partner offices.The candidate must be located within the US territory.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperations
Participate in AES DE's growth planning process by contributing to process improvement task forces and other strategic planning activities
Improve and develop processes for the execution of safe, quality and high-reliability projects
Educate team on changing trends in technology, standard methodologies and safety
Skills and QualificationsPrimary Qualifications
Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in Engineering or equivalent technical field
2 years professional experience in engineering with a focus on measuring and maintaining equipment reliability
Experience with root cause and failure modes analysis methods
Proficiency with reading and understanding equipment/facility schematics
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Well versed in the use of the Microsoft Office software suite
Experience in using results of data analytics and database tools
High degree of commitment to a quality safety culture and an incident-free work environment
Willingness to travel within the U.S. to support company's portfolio of PV solar/BESS assets
