Develops the methods and measures utilized for reliability analysis based on product specifications, tolerances, or operating standards. Being a Reliability Engineer utilizes analysis techniques like FMEA, fault tree, and root cause analysis to identify problems. Oversees testing activities and reviews results. Additionally, Reliability Engineer creates risk-based failure mitigation plans. Proposes new or revised product designs, manufacturing processes and testing specifications that utilize best practices and will increase reliability. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Typically reports to an engineering manager. The Reliability Engineer work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Qualifications
Possess strong safety awareness with adherence to company quality standards and ethics policies.
Possess strong attention to detail.
Possess adequate visual acuity to read and understand chemical container labels and to safely work in a chemical laboratory with hazardous chemicals.
Possess good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Ability to apply basic statistics and interpret and communicate results.
Ability to utilize computerized equipment and computer software packages including but not limited to Microsoft Excel, Word, and SAP.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Job Dimensions
Technical knowledge:
Understanding of small scale laboratory equipment. Ability to balance trade offs to achieve the maximum outcome. Understanding of performance test methods, application principles and techniques. Introductory knowledge of the product line within the region. Knowledge of laboratory scale safety risks due to equipment and/or chemicals. Ability to understand cost models. Ability to follow Parker LORD standard work. Ability to use our SAP ERP software.

Technical lead on low complexity/yield projects. Failure to achieve goals may cause delays in project schedules and may result in allocation of additional resources. Strive for zero defects. Developing ability to identify root cause and corrective actions for undesirable outcomes in product and process experiments.
Problem solving:
Begin to solve technical problems. Conduct investigations, data analysis and troubleshooting. Beginning knowledge and utilization of engineering tools, methods, processes (Benchtop experiments, DeltaV/PI, FMEA, Minitab, etc.) Develop solutions under direction.
