About the Role:
As a valued member of our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of maintaining and enhancing various production environments. Your primary focus will be on ensuring high stability, minimizing service downtime, and enhancing the overall quality of service for our esteemed FIS clients. This dynamic position will involve working with cutting-edge technology, encompassing coding, configuring, implementing, maintaining, and supporting systems.
About the team:
Platform Operations team provide 24x7 support across multiple platforms across all regions. Although predominantly SQL based applications the Ops team members have multiple skillsets providing a premium level of support.
What you will be doing:
Lead and actively participate in the day-to-day operations of the team, overseeing changes and incident resolution.
Take charge of incident triage calls and conduct root cause analysis to address issues effectively.
Configure and deploy product releases into production, ensuring the highest standards of quality.
Engage in data center and infrastructure change activities to maintain operational efficiency.
Develop robust monitoring and alerting systems for various application production environments.
Identify redundant tasks and drive automation efforts through hands-on coding and scripting.
Contribute proactively to team meetings and foster a collaborative team environment.
Research and resolve user problems, software system issues, and production environment challenges to ensure seamless operations.
Follow established escalation procedures to promptly address processing and user issues, meeting service level standards.
What you will need:
Proven experience as a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), focusing on scalability, high availability, performance, stability, and reliability of software applications.
Strong proficiency in building automation solutions to streamline operations and processes.
Hands-on experience in developing and implementing production monitoring solutions.
Sound understanding of product interdependencies and a blend of pragmatic, operational, and software development skills.
2-3 years of hands-on experience in building and supporting application infrastructure, both in private and Azure public cloud environments.
Proficiency in Change Management processes using ITSM tools such as ServiceNow.
Experience in initiating and leading or participating in the resolution of incidents.
Knowledge and hands-on experience with effective monitoring tools like Splunk, Dynatrace, Tryambak and Azure cloud-native monitoring tools.
Ability to work comfortably with Windows, Unix systems, IBM technologies (e.g., WebSphere AS and MQ), and SQL Server.
Proficiency in querying, scripting, and deploying on Microsoft SQL Server.
Proven ability to work autonomously and take initiative with minimal supervision.
Added Bonus if you have:
Supporting cloud base technology
Strong understanding of networking concepts.
Proficiency in scripting MS SQL would be advantageous.
General knowledge of financial applications would be a plus.
Knowledge of Fintech/Finance industry.
Knowledge of FIS products and services.
