Reliability Engineer analyzes and evaluates the reliability of products, equipment, components, and processes using engineering methodologies and tools. Develops the methods and measures utilized for reliability analysis based on product specifications, tolerances, or operating standards. Being a Reliability Engineer utilizes analysis techniques like FMEA, fault tree, and root cause analysis to identify problems. Oversees testing activities and reviews results. Additionally, Reliability Engineer creates risk-based failure mitigation plans. Proposes new or revised product designs, manufacturing processes and testing specifications that utilize best practices and will increase reliability. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Typically reports to an engineering manager. The Reliability Engineer work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Assists in the development of engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations. These problems include capacity, quality, cost or regulatory compliance issues. Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and root cause failure analysis (RCFA). Perform failure reporting, analysis and corrective action system (FRACAS). Works with Production and Engineering to perform analyses of assets including:Asset utilizationOverall equipment effectivenessRemaining useful lifeOther parameters that define operating condition, reliability and costs of assetsProvides technical support to production, maintenance management and technical personnel.Qualifications Bachelor Degree in EngineeringFive (5) years’ experience in maintenance related field with at least three (3) years’ experience in the equipment reliability functionExperience with Predictive Technologies, Root Cause Failure Analysis and Failure Mode & Effect Analysis.Must have experience in data analysis techniques including: Statistical process control, reliability modeling and prediction, Fault tree and weibull analysis.Experience using Six Sigma methodologyAdvanced computer and excellent technical skillsDemonstrated outstanding technical expertise in mechanical and electrical failures.Demonstrated leadership and team oriented skillsExcellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
