Develops the methods and measures utilized for reliability analysis based on product specifications, tolerances, or operating standards. Being a Reliability Engineer utilizes analysis techniques like FMEA, fault tree, and root cause analysis to identify problems. Oversees testing activities and reviews results. Additionally, Reliability Engineer creates risk-based failure mitigation plans. Proposes new or revised product designs, manufacturing processes and testing specifications that utilize best practices and will increase reliability. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Typically reports to an engineering manager. The Reliability Engineer work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     As a part of the Application Reliability team, you will be at the forefront of technologies interacting with Identity management platform(Okta and Azure identity management), Commercial Platforms and Technologies: Full-stack digital platforms and languages (Drupal, PHP, Javascript, HTML, APIs, .NET, SharePoint and Mobile solutions), Cloud computing and architecture (e.g AWS, Google Cloud Platform and Azure), DevOps tools and processes (e.g Jenkins, Terraform, JIRA, xRay, JFrog and Artifactory) and Observability/Monitoring tools and practices (New Relic, Pingdom, Splunk). You will be working with passionate, driven, excited individuals who believe that providing world class products is critical to providing the best health care products in the world. This position can be based in Raritan, NJ or other J&J office locations on the East Coast.

    Every day, this role will provide you the opportunity to have:
    • An SRE mindset and a set of engineering approaches to running better production systems.
    • Work directly with customers/developers/architects/product owners to help automate customer issues and drive solutions to build stronger more reliable Commercial Application solutions.
    • Manage and improve our Identify Management operation service.
    • As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will work to keep systems up and running by measuring and monitoring availability, performance and overall system health.
    • Interact with global technologists around the world building global and regional services and relationships with some of the most talented, passionate, caring individuals in the world.
    Qualifications

    Education:
    • BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent practical experience.

    Experience and Skills:

    Required:
    • The right leader will have at between 4-7 years of experience in a Computer Science or relevant field, be highly analytical and be calm in the face of fast-moving environments.
    • T-shaped professional: experience with full-stack web development (e.g. Front-end - HTML, CSS and JavaScript; Back-end - Python, PHP, MySQL, C#.
    • Experience with Identify management tools (e.g. Azure identify management and Okta).
    • Experience managing cloud platforms and infrastructure would be a plus (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure and PaaS offerings such as Acquia, Platform.SH).
    • Exposure to DevOps and CI/CD concepts and tools would be desirable (e.g. JIRA, Bitbucket/Git, Jenkins, Docker/Kubernetes, etc).
    • Exposure to SRE and APM concepts and tools is preferable (e.g. SLIs/SLOs, Pingdom, New Relic, AppDynamics, etc).
    • Nice to have experience in any of the other technologies such as Terraform, JFrog, Artifactory, Salesforce.com technologies and platforms (SFDC, SFMC, Veeva, MuleSoft).
    • Recommend and encourage appropriate design and architectural decisions.
    • Good understanding of SDLC, Scrum, Agile software development concepts.
    • Ability to debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks.
    • Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive.

    Anticipated Salary Range: $90,000- $144,900

    The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.
