    This is a part-time position working approximately 25-29 hours a week and a great opportunity to work with our dedicated Catechists and children from 1st through 8th grades. Monday evenings are a must and some flexibility during the week and weekends due to the nature of the job. Experience in serving as a Catechist is not required but a plus.
    General Responsibilities:
    • Provide resources to the Catechist and support each one individually.
    • Plan and provide Parents meetings at least four times a year.
    • Assist in the recruitment of new catechists for the program.
    • Maintain, request, and distribute the supplies (including textbooks) for the Religious Education program.
    • Follow the Diocesan curriculum for Religious Education.
    Requirements:
    • A practicing Catholic in good standing and a registered Parishioner in the Diocese.
    • High School diploma and 5 years of experience as a Catechist.
    • Awareness of NCD and recent church catechetical documents.
    • Able to work collaboratively in a team setting.
    • Appropriate awareness of doctrine and Scripture.
    • Completion of Diocesan Catechetical Certification while working as an Administrator.
    • Skills in scheduling, purchasing, providing resources, and support for Catechists.
    • Familiar with technology and social media.
    • Attends Diocesan D.R.E. meetings and other activities.
    • Participates in opportunities for spiritual growth.
    • Networks with other D.R.E.’s and administrators to improve current programs.
    • Assists in personnel recruitment.
    • Background check and Protecting God’s children class provided by the Diocese.
