Catholic Religious Education Coordinator

  • Job Title:  Catholic Religious Education Coordinator

    Location: Clovis, NM

    Duties:

    • Organize religious education weekly classes, recruit and train sufficient volunteer teachers, substitutes, and other necessary staff.
    • Organize at least two volunteer teacher-training events each year, one in the fall and one in the spring.
    • Coordinate children’s liturgy of the word, recruit staff (volunteers), procure necessary materials and supplies, train volunteer staff as needed and supervise this year-round activity.
    • Schedule and organize the Catholic Summer School program in consultation with the Catholic chaplain.
    • Attend and participate in Catholic Religious Education trainings.
    • Plan, coordinate and execute an annual event to honor and recognize the volunteer staff to include
    • Catechetical Sunday, an appreciation gift in the Christmas season, and or an end of the year appreciation dinner using Chapel Tithes and Others Funds (CTOF).

    Qualifications:

    • Must be a practicing Roman Catholic and present a letter of good standing from a Catholic Priest stating they are currently practicing Catholic in their Parish and in good standing with the Catholic Church
    • Resume must reflect at least two (2) years of experience including administration, program coordination, education, bible studies, volunteer work and two references with knowledge of previous work as a religious education coordinator or teacher.
    • Have basic working skills with Computer programs: Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
    • Provide proof of High School diploma OR its equivalent. A bachelor’s degree in religious studies or theology is preferable.
