DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

• Scheduling and organizing sexual assault outreach and training throughout the border and rural communities.
• Scheduling and organizing community resource fairs for border and rural communities.
• Providing crisis intervention, information and referrals for victims of sexual violence.
• Answering calls from the assigned hospitals to meet and/or accompany sexual assault survivors, includes on-call.
• Advocating on behalf of victims by providing information about community resources and helping to secure them when needed.
• Making home-visits as needed.
• Providing client transportation and accompaniment as needed for legal appointments.
• Answering hotline calls pertaining to sexual violence.

Other Responsibilities Include

• Working collaboratively with all staff.
• Maintaining client records and statistics
• Supporting related departments through cross-training and provision of additional staff support as needed.
• Performing special projects as assigned by supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree in human services field. Experience may be substituted for education.

Knowledge of domestic violence and sexual assault dynamics preferred; excellent oral and written communication skills required to include public speaking; high level of personal integrity, diplomacy, discretion, and tact is necessary; computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office products; highly organized, flexible, with ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities concurrently, and meet deadlines; non-traditional hours to include some evening and weekend hours required; some travel requiring a valid driver’s license and a personal, insured vehicle for use on the job required. Must be bi-lingual in English and Spanish.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
