Job scope:Under the direct supervision of the Parents as Teachers Coordinator, provides in-home instruction and group socialization experiences for pregnant women, parents and children birth to kindergarten entry age that will enhance parental ability to fill role of primary nurturer of children. Position ensures parental knowledge of child development to ensure that young children are healthy, safe, and ready to learn.
Education/licensure: Bachelor or four-year degree from accredited college or university in early childhood or a related field preferred; two-year degree or 60 college hours in early childhood or a related field; or high school diploma or GED with minimum of two years' experience supervised work experience with young children/parents. Current valid driver's license in state of residence, proof of automobile liability insurance, and a driving record insurable by the center's insurance carrier.
Experience/Knowledge: Competency with computer skills to include web browsing, e-mail, Internet and word-processing. Spanish speaking preferred.
Physical requirements that are bona fide occupational qualifications essential to the performance of the job: Be able to complete activities necessary to perform services. This includes but is not limited to bending, lifting up to 44 pounds, carrying, crawling, and kneeling. Must be able to tolerate excessive heat and cold.
