Religious Educator conducts religious education courses. Responsible for preparing and delivering lectures, and leading and moderating discussion. Being a Religious Educator may work from religious texts or standardized course templates. Evaluates and monitors student's performance, and helps students identify and pursue personal goals. Additionally, Religious Educator assesses and documents students' progress. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to an associate pastor or pastor. The Religious Educator work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a Religious Educator typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Prepares written and digital materials on public health related issues working with PIO
*Prepares and provides presentations in the community
*Leads Health Education Committee, trains staff in current public health issues as needed
*Researches and prepares grant applications, prepares grant reporting documents
*Plans, implements and organizes public health programs and activities, including environmental health needs
*Maintains inventory of educational materials
*Assists with Child Fatality review
*Serves on Community Coalitions to implement the Community Health Improvement Plan for Logan County
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
*Associate degree in health education, Bachelor’s degree preferred
*Two years relevant experience or equivalent combination of experience & education
KNOWLEDGE OF:
*Health education techniques/principals
*Agency policies/procedures
*Grant application process
*Knowledge and familiarity of Logan County community resources to adequately perform job.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES TO:
*Research methods to gather data
*Communicate effectively (written & verbal)
*Present programs and materials in a culturally sensitive manner
*Utilize literacy and health equity considerations in the development and delivery of education
*Ability to work in collaboration with community partners
Valid State of Ohio driver's license with appropriate vehicle insurance according to Health District policy, and reliable transportation required.
