Renal Dialysis Director directs the staff and programs of the renal dialysis department. Organizes and coordinates inpatient and outpatient dialysis services and operations. Being a Renal Dialysis Director develops and introduces approved standards and guidelines for dialysis operations and programs. Monitors quality of care, compliance, and data collection and leads quality improvement initiatives. Additionally, Renal Dialysis Director oversees the professional development of staff and educational support programs for patients. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Renal Dialysis Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Renal Dialysis Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     The Patient Care Technician initiates monitors and discontinues dialysis treatments under the direct supervision of an RN. The technician also performs equipment disinfection dialyzer reprocessing and other technical duties which support the clinical care of the dialysis patient.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Complete competency training and demonstrate successful performance of competencies within 3 months of hire (Competencies are described in the Core Curriculum for the Dialysis Technician)

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Post-secondary education with courses in the sciences and/or psychology
    • 1 year Patient care experience, for example: inpatient transportation, CNA paramedical training, phlebotomy, physical therapy, surgery technician
