Renal Dialysis Technician under the supervision of a registered nurse, performs required monitoring and duties during patient dialysis treatment. Prepares machine and solutions according to protocol. Being a Renal Dialysis Technician monitors patient before, during, and after treatment. Administers prescribed treatment according to physician and nursing orders. Additionally, Renal Dialysis Technician documents all treatment details as required. Ensures patient safety and comfort during treatment. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification and may require the Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT) or be required to be working towards the certification. Typically reports to a registered nurse. The Renal Dialysis Technician works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Provide overall support for Physicians and office operations.
Prepare patients for examination.
Take patient histories and vital signs.
Update electronic medical records with all meaningful use requirements.
Obtain records from referring physicians.
Answer phones and schedule appointments.
Scheduling of tests, treatments, and obtaining prior authorizations.
Triage telephone calls for referral to physician.
Cover front and back office.
Prepare monthly reports.
Cover for other MA in other clinics.
Some traveling from clinic to clinic in local areas.
Perform other duties as assigned.
