The Times News is a growing daily newspaper serving five counties that are rich in history but have a growing demographic.

We are seeking a Reporter to cover breaking news, community news and features. The Penn Forest-Kidder and Monroe County area will be the primary coverage area for this opening and would include covering municipal, school board, local business, transportation, area history, police reports and any other interesting local news.

Ideal candidate will be flexible and available for evening meetings and Saturday event coverage. Should be able to adapt to covering various topics, events and issues throughout the Times News region.  Must be able to cultivate sources and stay on top of news from this important core area of our circulation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in English, Journalism or equivalent work experience
• Residency in Pennsylvania
• Experience in taking video preferred but will consider those willing to learn
• Knowledge of government
• Knowledge of filing Right-to-Know requests
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to portray a professional appearance and demeanor
• Ability to recognize important community news and events
• Ability to take photos
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the paper, which includes some evenings and Saturdays
