Being a Reporter investigates and writes a variety of simple news stories. May require a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Reporter typically reports to a supervisor. The Times News is a growing daily newspaper serving five counties that are rich in history but have a growing demographic.
We are seeking a Reporter to cover breaking news, community news and features. The Penn Forest-Kidder and Monroe County area will be the primary coverage area for this opening and would include covering municipal, school board, local business, transportation, area history, police reports and any other interesting local news.
Ideal candidate will be flexible and available for evening meetings and Saturday event coverage. Should be able to adapt to covering various topics, events and issues throughout the Times News region. Must be able to cultivate sources and stay on top of news from this important core area of our circulation.
