Res. Hall Manager (No Room, Board) oversees all activities of a residence hall. Responsible for student housing assignment, maintenance of facilities, and safety of residents. Being a Res. Hall Manager (No Room, Board) ensures students follow college/university conduct policies and takes appropriate disciplinary actions when rules are broken. Incumbent is not given room and board at the residence hall as part of the employment arrangement. Additionally, Res. Hall Manager (No Room, Board) oversees maintenance and renovation, purchase and inventory of supplies, assignment of semester rooms and summer housing, housekeeping functions, and management of student conduct and discipline. Room and board in the residence hall is not included in the terms of employment. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Res. Hall Manager (No Room, Board) supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes. To be a Res.     Dining Room Manager

    Under the direction of the Director of Dining Services, the Dining Room Manager is responsible for seeing that hospitality and the customer service needs of residents/patients are provided in the dining venues on campus, primarily the independent living areas. Responsible for maintaining compliance with safety standards and regulations for survey agencies, as well as ensuring principles of service are maintained and executed daily. Performs a variety of supervisory and training duties.

    Instructs workers in methods of performing duties and supervises and coordinates work of employees to promote efficient operation.

    Responsible for maintaining service principles in the dining venues including ambiance, communication, meal service and service recovery.

    Instructs workers in methods of performing duties and supervises and coordinates work of employees to promote efficient operation.

    Screens and selects food service personnel in consultation with Director of Dining Services.

    Orients, trains, supervises, disciplines, and evaluates new dining service personnel.

    Coordinates with Chef/Production team to assure that foods are accurate, properly proportioned, attractively garnished, and arranged.

    Develops and maintains customer service training files. Supervises the use of this training by servers/diet aides.

    Directs cleaning procedures and assures that all sanitation standards are met.

    Consults with Director of Dining Services and/or Chef for planning special meals, special functions, and other catering requirements of the facility.

    Assures that in-service training requirements are met in all personnel.

    Responsible to direct cleaning procedures to meet all sanitation codes.

    Follows proper controls and documentation to comply with all regulations and surveys.

    Minimal Experience:

    At least two years hospitality experience delivering customer service in dining venues or catering services.

    One year experience in long term care or health care is preferred.

    Other Qualifications:

    Certification in Hospitality Management preferred.

    Certification as a ServSafe Food Protection Manager required. (Or completed within 1st year)

    Previous supervisory experience preferred.
