Communicates direction through words or actions to inspire team members to reach goals. Being a Research Fellow also responsible for planning and budgeting. Requires a PhD in their field of specialty. Additionally, Research Fellow typically reports to a top management. The Research Fellow manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. The Department of Mathematical Sciences invites applications for a two or three-year postdoctoral research fellowship beginning September 1, 2022.
The department has research groups in applied analysis, computational mathematics, combinatorics, discrete and convex geometry, logic, and mathematical finance and stochastic analysis. Applicants are expected to show exceptional research promise, as well as clear evidence of achievement, and should have research interests that intersect those of the current faculty of the department. These fellowships have a teaching requirement of two courses per academic year.
Preference will be given to candidates who have shown outstanding promise and/or excellent accomplishments in research. A Ph.D. in mathematics or closely related disciplines is required.
