Research Veterinarian - Higher Ed. provides medical services in support of the health of animals that are part of medical research and studies. Prescribes medications, establishes and administers treatment plans, and performs surgeries on animals. Being a Research Veterinarian - Higher Ed. provides oversight of animal care and laboratory protocols to ensure compliance with veterinary standards and statutory requirements. Requires an applicable state license to practice. Additionally, Research Veterinarian - Higher Ed. requires a PhD in veterinary medicine. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Join the High Ridge Animal Hospital team as our next associate veterinarian. Located in Stamford, Connecticut we deliver high quality medicine to amazing patients and clients. This is an exciting time because we are in the process of updating our facilities. We will have new exam rooms and a workspace for treatments and surgeries in 2023. As a very close knit group our four doctor team is supported by a long tenured and highly skilled staff. We work very closely with a wonderful local rescue, Red Leash Rescue, which specifically finds home for older, typically hospice, patients.
A new grad or an experienced vet would be a good fit on our team. We are currently a small animal practice but a candidate with experience in exotics is encouraged to apply. Our full-time veterinarian schedule is flexible and typically includes two half Saturdays a month.
Stamford is considered part of the Gold Coast, Connecticut as well as a New York City metro area. We have wonderful and easy access to all the culture of NYC without needing to live there. We also have very easy access to beaches, hiking and lots of horseback riding in the area. Stamford itself is a medium sized city with amazing restaurants and ample activities for all ages. We have some of the best public schools in the country and is great for families.
