    Position Overview

    We are seeking a motivated and growth-oriented Research Associate / Senior Research Associate to join our formulation development team.


    The successful candidate will assist in the screening and selection of formulation excipients to enhance our novel non-viral nanoparticle product stability. Collaborating with downstream process development, the candidate will facilitate the implementation of optimized formulations into the processes and monitor the products stability across storage conditions. Working closely with their supervisor, the candidate will contribute to the design of experiments, execute and document experimental work, perform laboratory support work as needed, and analyze data and communicate experimental results.


    The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with high throughput techniques, buffer exchanging methodologies, normal flow filtration and, as well as the capability and desire to learn and apply new experimental methodologies. A drive to execute, experimental rigor and scientific curiosity are key! We are a small and growing company, so the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to evolving priorities is essential.

    Job Responsibilities
    • Perform formulation experiments that assess the physical, chemical, and functional stability of multiple non-viral particles using established methodologies.
    • Independently run high-throughput biophysical methods, such as dynamic light scattering to facilitate rapid formulation development.
    • Maintain a library of formulation excipients and their physiochemical properties to enable future studies.
    • Working with supervisor, select the most suitable methodology, and contribute to the design of experiments.
    • Independently set up and prepare routine experiments as directed. Execute protocols of non-routine experiments with supervision as needed.
    • Perform calculations, record, and document data in an electronic lab notebook. Analyze data using scientific and statistical methods and communicate results.


    Minimum Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, or a related field with 0-2 years of industry experience.
    • Hands on laboratory experience with 96/384-well format formulation screening, normal flow filtration, and tangential flow filtration, is desired.
    • Experience using aseptic technique is highly desired.
    • Experience using or programming liquid handlers for automation.
    • Strong problem-solving, organization, and communication skills.
    • Desire to work both independently and as part of a team.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced and quickly changing environment.

    Full time in-person work is necessary for our laboratory-based positions. We work in facilities that require that all individuals working on-site are vaccinated for COVID-19. Position Title and Salary will be commensurate with Experience
