Job Summary:The Raytheon (RTX) Data Science and Technologies (DS&T) group performs interdisciplinary applied research and development (R&D) efforts that span fundamental research, concept development, trade studies and rapid prototyping for customized engineering products and services.
Responsibilities to Anticipate: Raytheon seeks to fill technical positions in the DS&T Sensor Processing and Exploitation group based in Richardson, TX and Dulles, VA. Successful candidates will work in a fast paced, collaborative environment developing new technology for advanced, automated Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) applications. New, innovative prototypes automatically extract meaningful information from remote sensing data. This team develops new prototypes (detection algorithms, machine learning models, etc.) to solve challenging problems for customers across the department of defense (DoD) intelligence community (IC). Successful prototypes are matured and transitioned for operational use on programs. The candidate should be able to succeed working on a small team or as an individual. Good communication skills are necessary for creating and giving technical presentations to peers, business leadership, and customers. Strong foundation in math, physics, engineering, computer vision, or data science is required for this position.
Basic Qualifications: - Requires a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience.
- Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain TS/SCI CI Poly U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
- Research and development experience (can be from post graduate work or education) in at least one of the following areas: 3D modeling, passive electro-optical sensing phenomenology (Panchromatic/Multispectral/Hyperspectral/Motion Imagery), active sensing (LiDAR and Synthetic Aperture Radar), sensor calibration, atmospheric modeling, radiometry, computer vision, and artificial intelligence (machine learning / deep learning).
- Development experience on Linux operating systems.
Preferred Qualifications: - Strong technical written and oral communication skills.
- Strong background in math, physics, engineering, computer vision, or data science.
- Advanced Degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or Data Science and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
- Strong software and algorithm development skills in languages such as Python, Matlab, Java, C/C .
- Cloud deployment experience of fielding algorithms and applications in containerized environments.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
