Research and Development Manager manages and directs the research and development programs to meet organizational needs and to capitalize on potential new products. Develops and implements research and development procedures and techniques. Being a Research and Development Manager oversees complex research projects, analyzes results and provides recommendations based on findings. Assesses the scope of research projects and ensures they are on time and within budget. Additionally, Research and Development Manager may require an advanced degree. Typically reports to a head of unit/director. The Research and Development Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be a Research and Development Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     As a Project Manager focused on research and development, you will be working with industry leaders, responsible for driving the development of groundbreaking solutions. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and adaptability to a changing environment are key to your success.     Key Responsibilities:


    • Project Management: Lead and oversee projects related to research and development of critical power technology. Develop comprehensive project plans considering development milestones, resource allocation, and technical constraints.

    • Collaboration: Act as a central point of coordination among cross-functional teams, facilitating the identification and communication of R&D objectives and priorities to ensure our innovations meet and exceed company expectations.

    • Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain transparent and effective communication with all relevant stakeholders, providing regular updates on progress and any alterations to the project scope or timeline.

    • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed project documentation, including development plans, progress reports, and research outcomes.

    • Risk Assessment: Proactively identify potential research challenges, develop mitigation strategies, and establish contingency plans to minimize disruptions to ongoing projects.

    • Team-Centric Collaboration: Actively engage with internal teams to gather insights and ensure that R&D projects align with strategic goals, while fostering seamless collaboration and knowledge sharing among cross-functional teams for project execution.


    Qualifications:


    • Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, or a related field.
    • Proven experience as a Project Manager in a research and development environment.
    • Strong understanding of switchgear and critical power systems.
    • Proficiency in project management software and research tools.
    • Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively within a cross-functional team.
    • Solid problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
    • Meticulous attention to detail and a steadfast commitment to quality.


    Additional Qualifying Factors


    • Must be able to complete criminal record background check.
    • Must have a valid driver’s license.
    • Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
    • Must comply with all company policies.


    Physical Requirements:


    • Must be able to lift up to twenty-five pounds at times.
