Additionally, students will examine the environmental impact of transportation, focusing on issues like pollution and sustainable alternatives in the Puget Sound region. Engaging activities and discussions will encourage students to understand the broader connection of transportation and the effects on our world. This will lead up to a project combining math and the arts to create an eco-friendly form of transportation that could be used in Tacoma and surrounding areas.
    - 9th and 10th grade: Mind Matters: Navigating Wellness - This theme will focus on mental health in Tacoma, Washington, students will explore local mental health services, emphasizing access and affordability. Students will work as a team to create these functional webpages, and to research the topic of their websites. Website development uses all parts of STEAM, coming together to create functional and engaging products. Concepts of computer science help students understand how advances in technology and engineering affect website capabilities and how coding language is used; technological advances combine with art to create engaging and appealing websites; and mathematics combines art and engineering in coding concepts.
