Position OverviewAcademic Instructor will enhance the opportunities of our students and employees to enjoy success through empowerment, as a result of their education and hard work. The instructor will facilitate a successful transition to post-secondary education and/or the workforce. This individual ensures that educational programs and activities serve diverse populations, including those that have been historically marginalized/excluded from participation. The position will also help coordinate and support the implementation of integrating curriculum and services.
- Designs, develops, and delivers learning opportunities and assesses individual academic progress
- Differentiates instruction to meet the individual student’s needs and various learning styles
- Reviewing, managing, and developing curriculum outline and materials
- Facilitating class instruction utilizing your experience and passion for your field
- Documents and reports student attendance and progress
- Responding promptly to student requests and provides detailed timely feedback
- Administering evaluations of student performance based on course deliverables.
- Continuously innovating inclusive and culturally-responsive pedagogy and active learning experiences (campus, online, hybrid) in response to assessment and evidence/data analysis
- Maintains necessary reporting systems.
- Prepares daily work plans and instructional materials for classroom use
- Provides individual attention and assistance to meet the varied needs and abilities of students. Teaches and instructs through lectures, demonstrations and audio/visual aids
- Incorporates Life Skills, Leadership, Vocational Skills and other relevant learning opportunities.
- In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will assist with assessment of current instructional methods, develop programs and curricula, and participate in professional activities.
- Effective use of oral and written communication skills.
- Other duties as assigned.
