    SUMMARY:

    As Operations Manager, you will oversee the multi-shift production process and the supporting processes on the plant floor, coordinating all aspects of the plant floor operations.  As Operations Manager, you will lead and coordinate with all plant floor support and planning groups (logistics, quality, maintenance, engineering, HR) to effectively and sustainably plan and execute activities that support short and long-term plant production goal attainment. Operations Manager’s focus includes planning and executing on safety, plant floor cleanliness and organisation, morale, quality rate, production rate, schedule and mix attainment, manning levels, budgets, and maintenance requirements to meet and sustain high efficiency while striving to become a world-class organisation. 

       

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Lead a cross functional plant-floor team to safely and effectively meet plant budgets and KPIs. 
    • Safety: Drive a safe work environment and safety culture, ensure safety rules are clear and followed, job safety analysis are completed, have a zero tolerance mindset for unsafe conditions and acts.
    • People: Responsible for people development, Communication strategy, Training plans and execution, versatility, performance reviews, team engagement, absenteeism, turnover, culture adherence, incentive plan execution.
    • Plant floor organisation: Ensure compliance to the 5S standards of the plant and utilise visual management where applicable.
    • Quality: Ensure product quality KPIs and processes are followed to produce products meet the specifications and quality standards per the Quality Operating System
    • Production Schedule: Ensure the schedule meets production standards, meet volume and mix requirements of that schedule, ensure raw material availability and finished goods storage is adequate.
    • Productivity: Ownership of driving productive output and the utilisation of data to develop output improvement plans and execute to achieve goals.
    • Engineering: Support and drive Kaizen and efficiency improvement projects, drive product development to design-for-manufacturing principles, ensure work instructions available, accurate, and utilised.
    • Maintenance Planning: Work with the maintenance team to manage the maintenance activity for the plant to ensure repeatable and sustained output to meet the production demand.
    • Cost & Budget Attainment: Ensure flex budgets are obtained and costs optimised to meet production demands. 
    • Manpower Planning: Utilising full time and temp employees, ensure proper manning levels are maintained based on production needs, absenteeism, and turnover.

     

    JOB SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (Engineering Degree Preferred). 
    • Minimum 6 years experience within a production management leadership capacity.
    • Experience in lean manufacturing and operations improvement activities. 
    • Experience in managing integrated automation lines.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
    • Ability to build strong relationships. 
    • Proficient in PC applications including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and MRP systems.
    • Ability to manage a team and lead by example to improve efficiency and productivity.
